His process has been incorporated throughout Miller Financial Services as he seeks to first understand the uniqueness of each client’s situation, followed by a thorough analysis, organization, and execution with regular monitoring of each individualized plan and portfolio.

Jeff joined Northwestern Mutual in 1987 after receiving his B.S. in Business, Economics and Sociology from the University of Richmond. Since joining, he has received his Accredited Estate Planner (AEP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designations.

Jeff and his wife Mel enjoy traveling, learning about wine and being active with their 2 dogs. They have two grown daughters, Taylor who is a History Teacher and married to Michael, and Maddie, who lives in London and works in Digital Marketing.

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me… in sweatpants, drinking a large hot green tea with honey and most likely with two 6-year-old "puppies" on my lap.

Colin attended the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA and graduated with a BA in Economics. He joined Northwestern Mutual in August 2010, serving as the Associate Director of Network Office Supervision. Before joining Miller Financial Services in March 2013, he was Investment Operations Manager for the Virginia Group of Northwestern Mutual.

Colin became a Partner at Miller Financial Services in January 2022. 

Colin advises clients on financial planning matters while also overseeing the team’s portfolio research, due diligence and advisory implementation. He has obtained his FINRA Series 7, 9, 10, & 66 securities licenses, as well as his Life, Health and Annuity License. In August of 2014, Colin earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation from The American College.  Colin is a CFA® charter holder and a member of the CFA® Society of Virginia.

Colin and his wife, Megan, have three kids and reside on a farm. 

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?

While work calls on me to be mostly indoors, I am happiest being outside and pursuing other interests. My wife and I love watching our kids participate in sports, and one of our favorite family activities is alpine skiing. My newest hobby is training and hunting with our German Wirehaired Pointers, Leo and Rosie. 

Chris attended Virginia Commonwealth University before joining Northwestern Mutual in 1999. In August of 2001, he joined Miller Financial Services. Chris is responsible for implementing investment strategies and conducting annual strategy meetings with clients. He has obtained his FINRA Series 7 & 63 securities licenses as well as his Life, Health and Annuity license. Chris earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation from The American College in February 2014, he earned his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation in May 2015 and he went on to earn his Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation in November 2018.

Chris became a Partner at Miller Financial Services in January 2022. 

Chris and his wife, Anne Marie, have a son, Bailey, and two daughters, Kinsey and Reagan.

Who is someone you admire, and why?

Winston Churchill.  I admire his steadiness and courage while facing seemingly insurmountable odds during World War II.  I also admire his dry wit.

Mel attended The State University of Oneonta in New York and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004. She joined Miller Financial Services in August of 2015. Mel has over 20 years of digital marketing and client relationship management experience.

Mel's primary function for Miller Financial Services is to oversee the client experience as well as consult internally with the practice around the areas of marketing and brand identity.

In her free time, Mel enjoys reading, running long distances, and spending time with her family and two dogs.

Who is someone you admire, and why? My dad because he never takes the small stuff for granted. “The small stuff is the big stuff!”

Sally graduated from Longwood College in 2002 with a BS degree in Business Administration. Before she joined Miller Financial Services in March 2008, Sally was a paralegal in a law office in eastern North Carolina.  She currently holds her Life, Health and Annuities License.

Sally provides administrative support for the insurance side of the business, including paperwork and client service requests.

Sally and her husband, Ryan, have two daughters, McKenna and Landrey.  They enjoy traveling (beach and mountains), college sports and spending time with family and friends.

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me... in the kitchen cooking a big breakfast for the family before carpools, activities and errands get started.

Kristen graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Sociology before going on to receive a Master’s of Science in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011. Kristen has nearly a decade of experience in administration and operations in the public sector and the health and wellness industry. Joining Miller Financial Services in 2020, she now serves as our Investment Operations Associate.   Kristen holds her FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses as well as her Life, Health, and Annuities License.

Kristen grew up just outside of Richmond and has lived in the city since 2011. In her free time she enjoys exploring the city’s vibrant culture, exercising, cooking, and spending time with her husband Craig, son Marshall, and their dog Pibber.

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me... working out, cooking a leisurely breakfast while I catch up on my favorite podcasts, and enjoying some quality playtime with Marshall.

Stephanie earned her BS degree in Business Management from North Carolina State University in 2007.

She started her career as a risk analyst for Wachovia Securities before transitioning to Northwestern Mutual in 2008, Stephanie held various roles including Assistant Director of Network Office Supervision and Investment Operations Manager. She joined Miller Financial Services in 2011 as an Associate Wealth Management Advisor until she was relocated to Virginia Beach for her husband’s career in 2013. Stephanie continued to gain experience at Northwestern Mutual as an Associate Wealth Management Advisor and Director of Operations in the Virginia Beach Office.

In 2021, Stephanie moved to Northwestern Mutual corporate office as an Assistant Director of Field Experience and Delivery Lead for Gen AI tools.

She returned to Miller Financial Services in 2024 as the Director of Operations, overseeing business strategy and operations for the team.

Stephanie resides in Alpharetta, GA with her husband, Aaron, daughter Lila, and son Camden.

What are you happiest doing when not working?

Outside of work you can often find Stephanie at her children’s sports games or dance performances, and loves to travel with her family, whether it’s hiking in the mountains, boating at the coast, or attending sporting events.

Kelsey graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts. Joining Miller Financial Services shortly after graduating, she now serves as our Investment Operations Associate.

Kelsey will be primarily responsible for servicing our investment clients. Her role includes assisting with account opening, maintenance, and asset movement, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.

In her free time, Kelsey enjoys exploring the city, reading, baking, supporting the Yellow Jackets and spending time with her friends and family.

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me... enjoying a hot cup of coffee, and either having a slow morning with my family or spending time with my friends.
